Brace Yourself – The Invisalign Overbite Cure

Many people worry when they are told they need orthodontic treatment, as they don’t want their appearance to suffer. Mention the word ‘braces’ or ‘retainers’ and visions of their mouth looking like a train track come to mind.

Advancements in dental treatment over the last few years have resulted in dental solutions that not only produce great results, but are also more aesthetically pleasing too. One of these treatments is Invisalign. Using a series of custom made removable aligners, Invisalign will transform your smile. Unlike traditional braces and retainers, Invisalign is almost invisible and is removable.

Dental problems that Invisalign can be used for:

  • Overbites
  • Crossbites
  • Overcrowding
  • Gaps in teeth

Overbites are a common dental problem, and in children nearly 70% of dental disorders are overbites. The two primary types of overbites are Horizontal and Vertical. Horizontal overbite is when the top teeth protrude beyond the bottom teeth.

Vertical overbite is where the top teeth overlap the bottom teeth.

If an overbite is through a genetic problem, it may be necessary to remove one or several teeth before commencing Invisalign treatment. This will allow the teeth to return to their correct position.

Photographs, x-rays and dental impressions will be taken before a customised Invisalign treatment plan is put together for you.

The lab will develop a series of aligners for you that must be worn for a minimum of twenty to twenty two hours each day. Each of the aligners will gently work to move teeth to their correct position.

It works with an appropriate placement of controlled movement per aligner. Invisalign controls both the movement of each aligner and the timing of the movement. This means that as per your Invisalign treatment plan, only certain teeth are allowed to move at a particular stage.

The cost of Invisalign

Because cost is an important consideration, MiSmile want to make it as affordable as possible for you to have the smile you’ve always wanted, which is why we can offer you finance options. The price will vary depending on the complexity of individual cases, but Invisalign could cost you from as little as £1 per day! Comparing the cost of Invisalign to traditional braces it is very favourable.
