How much do you know about animal teeth?
One of the most interesting things about the animal kingdom is animal teeth, as their teeth vary so widely from our own.

1. Sharks
When we think of animals and teeth, sharks are probably one of the animals that we all instinctively think of. Sharks can have over 20,000 teeth in a lifetime as they lose some of their teeth each week.
2. Crocodiles
Crocodiles can have almost 60 teeth at any one time, double the amount of teeth that we have! A crocodile can have over 2000 teeth during its lifetime and they too lose their teeth fairly regularly just like sharks.
3. Poisonous Snakes
Unlike crocodiles and sharks who can have thousands of teeth, poisonous snakes rely on their hollow fangs to inject poisonous venom into their chosen prey. If a snake loses or breaks a fang then another will slowly grow back in its place.
4. Giraffes
Giraffes and humans share one common teeth trait - we both have 32 teeth! It’s a strange coincidence as you would expect a large giraffe to have many teeth, but giraffes only need to grind and chew leaves, so they don’t need more than 32 teeth.
5. Dolphins
Although you probably wouldn’t think it, dolphins have more teeth than any other animal on earth! Dolphins can have over 200 teeth at any one time, and you can tell the age of a dolphin by the rings on their teeth, just like you would age a tree!
