Dr Beena Harkison
Beena Harkison [GDC 171089] graduated in Dentistry from the University of Witwatersrand in 2001 and then went on to obtain a Masters degree in Implantology (MSc Implantology) in 2004. She was a Research Fellowship Student at the South African Medical Research Council and worked in community care and private paediatric practice In 2011, she attained an MBA with merit from Imperial College, London.
She joined Image Diagnostic Technology where she was responsible for sales, training and education related to cone-beam CT scanners and implant planning software products. She joined Align Technology (the manufacturer of the Invisalign clear aligner system) in 2007 and was Director of Clinical and Professional Education for Europe, Middle East and Africa before returning to clinical practice.
Her particular interests are minimally invasive dentistry using concurrent digital technologies such as Invisalign, CBCT and facial scanners. With these technologies, aesthetically and functionally orientated treatments are provided in a comfortable, predictable, convenient and safe manner.
Beena has also undertaken extensive training in the field of facial aesthetics using the patient’s own blood constituents and growth factors (PRF) to treat fine lines and wrinkles under the tutelage of the world-renowned Dr Cleopatra Nacopoulos (so-called Cleopatra Technique).
Dr Bhavin Pitamber
Bhavin Pitamber [GDC 78285] graduated in 2000 from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, with awards in General Medicine, General Surgery and Operative Dentistry. In 2007, he embarked upon formal postgraduate studies, which culminated in the award, MSc in Clinical Periodontology.
His clinical expertise includes the diagnosis and treatment of periodontal and peri-implant diseases. His special interests lie in plastic periodontal and peri-implant surgery such as the treatment of gum recession, and in regenerative periodontal treatments. Growth factors and advanced biomaterials are routinely used to optimise the outcomes of such treatments. Implant dentistry including advanced bone and sinus augmentation procedures are a significant element of his daily practice.
Bhavin is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, European Federation of Periodontology and the Association of Dental Implantology.
The Mews Practice is located on London Road (A3100), opposite Stoke Park. There is free off-site parking directly outside Elmdon House on London Road. Disabled parking is available on site. Turn into Elmdon House and follow the signs to the front entrance.
London Road Train Station is a short 10-minute walk from The Mews Practice. Guildford Main Station is a 20-minute walk from The Mews Practice.
