Mark qualified in 2009 from The Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’s Dental Institute in London having won the Maurice Wohl General Dental Practice prize for clinical excellence in general practice care. Having completed his postgraduate training year at the Causeway Dental Practice he has remained with us and completed his membership of the faculty of general dental practice in 2011. In 2013 Mark was awarded the title of ‘Young Dentist of the Year’ for the South East Region in recognition of his commitment to high standards and the profession. He was shortlisted and made a finalist the following year for the same award.

Mark has furthered his postgraduate training by undertaking the prestigious double masters degree (MClinDent) in Prosthodontic Dentistry at King’s College London, as well as undertaking a course in Implant placement.

Outside of the practice Mark is a clinical teacher and examiner at the Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’s Dental Institute in London, teaching undergraduate dental students in the field Primary Dental Care. He is also an examiner for the National Certificate of Dental Nursing and an elected member on the executive board of the West Sussex Local Dental Committee.

In his spare time, Mark is a keen experimental cook and enjoys dining out as well as trying to keep fit.

Dr Sarah Hosier - The Causeway Dental Practice - MiSmile Network

Sarah qualified from The Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’s Dental Institute in London in 2006, and has really loved the challenges of working in a busy NHS practice. Having thoroughly enjoyed her dental degree, while at University, Sarah won the Maurice Wohl General Dental Practice prize certificate of merit.

Sarah completed her post graduate training year at the Causeway, and feeling very much at home here, stayed on, and has enjoyed developing ongoing relationships with her patients. She especially takes pleasure in helping nervous patients regain their confidence in the dental chair. In the future, Sarah is very keen to help bring Implants to the practice, and eventually do a Masters in Restorative Dentistry.

In her spare time, Sarah spends a lot of time with her very close family and friends. Sarah loves to row, and is a member of a rowing club. She is also a keen artist- a hobby that she used to help fund her through University on occasion, and still loves to draw and paint, going to art exhibitions and galleries as much as she can.

Dr Sheetal Patel - The Causeway Dental Practice - MiSmile Network

Dr Patel qualified from Newcastle University in 2012. Being from Surrey originally, after gaining her degree she moved closer to home and completed her vocational training in Kent. Since then she has spent her time working in busy NHS practices, building her experience whilst getting a feel for what she likes. She greatly enjoys building good, trusting relationships with her patients and helping them to feel at ease when coming to the dentist. Sheetal has also worked in hospitals providing out of hours emergency care and has enjoyed the contrast and fast pace of this environment.

Sheetal has developed an interest in aesthetics and whilst she has taken some courses in this area previously, she is looking to further develop her skills with more training in particular, learning about dermal fillers.

Sheetal loves going to the gym and spending the rest of her spare time with her young daughter.
